Yale ISP Executive Director, Laura DeNardis, in a keynote address “Opening Innovation through Opening Standards” at the Paris Interoperability Workshop on June 24, 2009, discussed the linkage between open standards and innovation policy. DeNardis presented two examples – in the areas of synthetic biology and Internet video – in which greater openness in interoperability standards is necessary to promote innovation. An audio podcast of the talk is available here.
