The ITU Conference Venue

Yale ISP Executive Director Laura DeNardis addressed the International Telecommunication Union’s Bridging the Standardization Gap conference in Nada, Fiji on September 16-17, 2009. The ITU, the specialized agency of the United Nations for information and communication technology standards convened the workshop as part of its “Bridging the Standardization Gap” program to improve technical standardization capacity in the developing world. The workshop program and other information is available here. DeNardis presented case studies of national standardization capability; described the primary standards gaps confronting developing countries; and recommended some best practices for national standards capability.
